Meet the stunning Ms. MaKenzie! She is a 2017 Senior at Croatan High School. MaKenzie is a natural in front of the lens and, I swear, the camera just LOVES her!
I can comfortably say, after looking through her closet, that MaKenzie’s style leans heavily towards Boho style. She is a self-proclaimed beach bum and has a casual breezy look to her style. We had a great time picking out her outfits & accessories for her makeover experience and shooting around downtown New Bern. MaKenzie had a myriad of clothing options and we ended up squeezing in seven different outfit combos for her two sessions.
We went with a (surprise, surprise) casual boho style for her first look with a flowy ivory top, brown and orange scarf for a little pop of color, dark blue jeans, brown suede high-top moccasin boots and gold accessories. I love this look in front of the neutral concrete wall that we used at our first location. Her second look was a casual white tee with lace sleeves and a black and silver infinity scarf shot against a vivid red brick wall. Her third outfit was a preppy navy and coral dress with lace accents on the sleeves paired with gold accessories and a skinny leather belt. Her fourth look was a sophisticated flowy black dress with chunky gold accessories that we shot at the marina with yachts and sailboats as our backdrop. And, we finished off the session at sunset by the water with MaKenzie in her sweet sixteen dress – a glittering gold sequined cocktail gown and some serious bling. We also shot a few images with a classy blush feather jacket over her gold gown.
For her second shoot, we started off with a bright red cocktail dress that features a one-shoulder neckline and some chunky diamond earrings and necklace. We later paired this with an edgy black leather moto jacket. I love the way this red dress really popped in front of the ivy covered wall we used as a backdrop. Her second outfit for this shoot was a sophisticated all-black romper with sheer sleeves and a glittery gold skinny belt.
MaKenzie was a joy to work with and she was super comfortable in front of the camera. I totally think she may have a future as a pro model!
